Gochugaru - Korean red pepper flakes - have a mild to medium heat and a lovely, tomato-like aroma. Not just for making kimchi, being de-seeded, along with their moderate heat and full flavour make them an excellent condiment to use on anything you fancy. Great in pasta dishes too.
